Ever have one of those days? Cupboards open. Toothpicks fall. Pouty face? Long sigh? Lose your temper? Or play a game of pick-up sticks? What's more you?

The outstretched tree limbs caused me to pause, enjoying their shade. Like divine love, this long awaited Fall breeze is fashioned to be shared, not horded, and savored, instead of by passed. Where do you pause during your day caught by a millisecond of thanksgiving?

Just got back from my morning walk in the cool Autumn air. Yes! Finally, my favorite season is here. Happy Fall, everybody.

This week, become someone's sunrise.

To some it's just a white, plush bed comforter. But what I see? A dedication to self care. Thank you, Lord, for the ability to care for these complex needs like comforters, new clothes, and the retreat my wife is taking this weekend. How have u indulged in self care lately?

Our glorious rain has ended. The break up of the tropical storm restored much of what our drought-filled summer took away. The once yellow scorched grass is now green again. And right now, the afternoon actually holds the breeze of Fall. I only miss the frogs' ribbiting.

How sweet is! Yes, we made it to another weekend. There's rain on the ground. Temperature's hovering in the 70s. All chores are done. Dinner's cooking in crockpot. Feeling blessed. How are you guys doing?

They say, potato plants cover a multitude of sins. Once they received rain, they did this almost overnight. I am beginning to think what "they" said was right. What do you think?

The rain finally came. Watered, the Zinnias can no longer contain themselves. They're moving out into the sidewalk. I must confess, it's been a while since I felt like this flower acts.

"Think like a designer," my friend challenged, "find a problem and become the solution." On my daily walk, the past couple of days, I've noticed my neighbor's lighted driveway. "It looks like an airport runway. No one's tripping out there. Hmmm, think like a designer..."

Funny how a day appears out of night. So subtle. One minute darkness. The next still dark. Then, all the sudden, the sun's breaking the horizon. Hope's a lot like that. Always there just hiding.

It's a new day. Don't let it fall into a crack. Remember you can only control you.

Taking time to appreciate a zinnia after mowing the lawn.

As I think on Job's words, I realize I can only control my reaction to the losses I endure in my life. What is taken away wasn't anything but a gift in the first place.

There's a moment when you realize just how vast, beautiful, and mysterious the universe is. And that you, although are a tiny speck in it, are grateful to be a part of it.

Feel it. We say that all the time. That's the gift of moment. Right now... What are you feeling?

It's a new day. What color will you wear?
