I am sure that by now you must have realised that my student life was difficultand distressful. I need to bring to your attention that there was one more reason for it: the professors.

The professors of my college were far from being helpful or friendly. When I was in my first year of degree college, some of our senior students had warned us towards the professors. They had instructed us towards how to behave in front of them, how to approach them, not to argue with them, so on and so forth. These instructions had been definitely helpful, though the wrath of the professors could not be avoided.

Most professors of my college were women. When people say "woman is a woman's worst enemy", I got a first hand experience of that at my college. Our professors simply despised us. They would mock each student for not knowing what they were going to teach. Each and every student was subjected to humiliation. As a class united, we had made a pact that even though the professors try to insult the student in front of the entire class, we will not laugh or support this attitude in any manner. We stood together with every student. It was something that bothered our professors because they were unable to break the unity of our class.

Then our professors made another strategy to torture us. They announced that before every practical, they would take viva at the entrance of the lab. If the student is able answer the question, they will be allowed to enter. If the student cannot answer the question, they will not be allowed to enter and attend the practical. While doing so we saw an evil grin on our professors' faces. They loved to see students struggling to answer. A lot of students would cry in front of them to allow them to perform the practicals and professors would thoroughly enjoy this.

Another strategy that our professors have adopted was criticizing our outfits. Any viva felt like an audition for Roadies. While sitting in front of the professors who hurled insults was a different level of torture. We had been tolerating all of it for not getting into trouble. Once a professor had said to a girl was, "do you think you are a model and this is a fashion show? Do you come here to study or to gain a fan following for your entertainment career?" (Note: This classmate was the university topper who was pretty and had good fashion sense). If any girl was pretty she was subjected to unnecessary humiliation. The worst of all this part, we could not do anything against these professors because our principal was in complete disbelief that the professors had been mistreating us. Whenever the principal would be around, the professors would be on their best behavior.

One things I can say is that the corporate life and corporate bullies never bothered me because I had my own share of experience in my college itself. I had endured the worst torture in my college life, so the corporate politics was a piece of cake. Yet, I still think and wonder how the professors had been so vile that they thought the students were their puppets to torment.

This was one of the reasons why I was glad to leave the college abd step out in apparent "brutal" world.

When professors are cruel and mock you, you
