The Right Network

You can be talented. You can be hardworking and intelligent and ambitious.

But if you completely ignore relationship you are making life unnecessarily difficult.

The people around you matter. Not because you should use people as stepping stones. But because oppertunity may come through someone who knows your mark. A mentor may introduce you to a field you never considered. A friend may recommend you for a position. A colleague you treated well may become the person hiring tou years later.

This is why having good relationship with the right people matters. And no Right People does not only include rich and powerful or influencial people.

The right people are those who are trustworthy and capable and supportive and moving in a direction that aligns with your goals. They may be mentors or friends or colleagues or seniors or classmates or even people you meet briefly but treat with genuine respect.

Networking is often misunderstood as walking into a room and collecting as many contacts as possible. It is the ability to collect one contact that is capable of helping you for a long time.

Real relationship are build over time. You can help someone when you can. You share useful information. You remember important things about them. You stay in touch even when you don't immediately need anything. You become someone people can trust.

And importantly you should not build relationships only with people above you.

The junior employee you ignore today may becomes a manager tomorrow. The classmate sitting beside you may build a successful company five years from now on. The person you meet at an event may introduce you to someone who changed your career.

You cannot predict who will change your future one day. You don't need as massive network. You need a meaningful one. One.

At the same time be careful about the people you keep close. Relationship can also frain your confidence, waste your time and pull you waya form your goals. Not everyone deserves unlimited access to you.

The practical lesson is Be kind to people. Ne useful when you can. Keep your word. Maintain genuine connections. Don't burn bridges unnecessarily.

You never know which relationship may become an oppertunity or lesson or friendship or a lifeline.

But the right relationship can help you make sure the right people never know you exist.

Having a thousand friends is not the same as having one meaningful one.
