For the next few days, she tried to ignore the messages.
But they kept coming.
Not too many.
But just to make her wonder.
"Did you smile today?"
"Did you do something for yourself?"
And then, one evening—
"Do you remember me?"
Her heart skipped.
She stared at the screen.
"Should I?"
The reply came almost instantly.
"You used to."
She suddenly remembered an old notebook hidden at the back of her cupboard.
She ran her fingers over the dusty pages, remembering the girl she used to be.
Somewhere along the way, she lost that girl.

Old memories. Old dreams. Old promises.

Her eyes widened.

Her phone buzzed again.
"Now you remember."
She looked at the name again.
For the first time, she wasn't scared of the messages.
She was scared of the truth behind them.
And just before she could type a reply, one final message appeared.
"Tomorrow, I'll tell you why I came back."
She stared at the screen.
Tomorrow suddenly felt very far away.
To be continued....
