This reminded me of The Kite Runner. Amir and Hassan's friendship changes with time, distance, and life circumstances, but some bonds leave a mark on us forever. Moving away for university taught me something similar, not every friendship lasts in the same form, but the genuine ones stay with you no matter how much life changes.
