In the last week the grey cat that stays in my society complex had given birth to 4 kittens. The kittens were discovered by the security guard and another neighbour. All of us had decided to take care of the mother cat and the kittens. Our society security guard had voluntered to take the responsibility of caring for the kittens. We residents had decided to provide the supplies for the kittens to the security guard.
Yesterday I left my home to buy groceries. I decided check with the security guard if any supplies are needed for the kittens. The security guard appeared sad. I immediately realised that something has gone wrong. I asked him if the kittens were ok.
"No need to bring anything madam. Kittens died," the security guard said and I could sense sadness in his voice.

I was working that day. Our house help Geeta had come and was washing utensils. I heard my mom speaking with Geeta. I assumed it must have been a regular household chit chat between them, so I did not pay much attention to that. A few minutes later, my mother came to my room. She looked a little worried.
"Do you have any meeting now?" My moyher enquired.
"Nothing right now. What happened?" I got worried if my mom was feeling unwell.
"Geeta wants to speak with you. Will you come to the kitchen?" My mother did not tell me much, but it was enough for me to know my mom was all right.
I went into the kitchen. Geeta had sat on a chair, she was sweating, and was drinking lemonade that my mom had prepared.
"Are you feeling dizzy Geeta? Should I take you to the doctor?" I started off with my ques…
One cool morning after offering Fajr prayer, I decided to take a walk in a nearby park. The fresh air felt calm, and the gentle rays of the rising sun filled the surroundings with warmth. Birds were singing sweetly, colorful flowers were blooming, and the green trees swayed softly in the breeze. The peaceful atmosphere made me feel grateful to Allah for the beauty of His creation.
As I walked along the path, I noticed children playing happily, elderly people exercising, and families enjoying time together. Everyone seemed busy in their own way, yet the park remained peaceful. Looking at the trees, the sky, and the birds reminded me that every part of nature is a sign of Allah's wisdom and mercy. It inspired me to say Alhamdulillah for the countless blessings that we often take for granted…
It was the mid of 2022. The COVID restrictions where lifted. All businesses and corporates were eager to return to normal. I was seeking normalcy too. I had started going to the office but there would not be a lot of people. It was a rainy Wednesday when I met my friend Krish (pseudonym) in the office cafeteria.
" Hi. Good to see you. How are you?" I greeted him with a smile. It was great to see a familiar face in the office. It was indeed good to see him fit and fine after the pandemic.
"Hi. I am good. How are you? Great to see you in the office," he said in a calm and suspiciously sad manner. I understood something was wrong but I did not want to bring that up.
"Good too. So have you started coming to the office or today is just an exception?" I asked him pretending as if I have noticed …
What do you most want to ask for right now — for yourself, or for someone you love?
Believing in God is something that sounds easy, but it takes a lot for a person to give in to their vulnerability and allow themselves to believe in something greater than everything in this world. Being humble and putting yourself down is not for everyone but I think putting God in the highest pedastal will be the most rewarding thing you can do.
I ask for health, happiness, success, for myself, for my partner and for my family, and believing that my God can provide that for me is so powerful. However, there’s a doubt that overcomes me, why am I worth these answered prayers? Why me? Am I allowed these answered prayers? Can I ever be enough?
Years of sin done in dark and in light can nullify these asks of…
What are you hoping for, deep down? Name it gently.
If I being completely honest with myself I don't think I am hoping for anything extraordinary. Not fame. Not endless success. Not a life where everything goes perfectly.
Deep down I am looking for somthing more simpler. I am hoping for peace.
The kind of peace that lets me fall asleep without my mind racing through a hundred different worries. That kind that allows me to wake up excited about the day instead of making me anxious about everything waiting for me. A quiet heart isnsomething we rarely appreciate until we have spend too long carrying a noisy mind. I have realised that peace is not the absence of problems. It is the ability to face them without losing yourself.
I am also hoping for health.
It is easy to take our body f…
