do all cats have this habit of rubbing themselves everywhere?

Yes.. sometimes when I try to pet a cat and they become friendly they start to rub their body against my legs...

I am no cat owner. But I read that cats rub against everything to mark their scent, hence territory. This tells other animals including other cats that this area/object belongs to the cat. Cats rule for sure
