There is something about late-night conversations that makes even the simplest words feel different. During the day, we are busy with our responsibilities, surrounded by people, pretending to have everything under control. But when the night arrives and everything becomes quiet, suddenly we have so much to say and nobody specific to say it to. That's when old songs, random shayari, and dramatic dialogues start making a little too much sense. 😭
And honestly, who hasn't wanted to talk like they're living in an old Bollywood movie at least once? Imagine sitting near a window at midnight, looking outside like the entire world has personally disappointed you, while a sad song plays in the background. Nothing particularly tragic has happened, but somehow your brain has decided that tonight is the perfect time to remember every embarrassing moment from the last five years.
Then comes the classic line: “Hello Faiz Jani, ye gham ki sham kitni lambi hai?” And suddenly, instead of explaining what's wrong, you just want someone to understand the reference and continue the drama with you. No serious questions, no unwanted advice, just someone who gets the vibe. 😂
I think that's one of the funniest things about our generation. We can be genuinely tired, slightly emotional, completely confused about life, and still turn the whole situation into a meme. One minute we're discussing our future, and the next minute we're sending each other old Bollywood dialogues as if we're the tragic heroes of a black-and-white film.
But behind all that humour, there is something relatable too. Sometimes evenings do feel longer than they should. Sometimes you miss a person, a particular time in your life, or even a version of yourself that existed before everything became so complicated. You might not even know exactly what you're feeling. You just know that the night feels unusually quiet and your mind refuses to switch off.
And maybe that's okay. Not every feeling needs a perfect explanation. Not every quiet evening needs to become a productive one. Sometimes you can simply listen to music, laugh at your own dramatic thoughts, drink your favourite chai, and let the hours pass without expecting yourself to figure everything out.
The best part is when you find someone who matches your level of nonsense. You send one dramatic dialogue, they reply with an even more dramatic one, and suddenly the sadness has turned into a comedy show. Those conversations become memories too, even if neither person remembers what they were originally talking about.
So here's to the people who quote old songs at the most random hours, who turn ordinary nights into little movie scenes, and who use humour to make life's confusing moments feel lighter
Tell me honestly, are you actually going through something, or are you just in your old Bollywood dialogue era tonight? Because sometimes the gham is real, sometimes the drama is imaginary, and sometimes we're simply waiting for someone to reply with the next iconic line. 😭🤍

When the night feels unusually long and your mind won't switch off, you
