I was 23 years old at that time. I had a completed my studies and had started working at a corporate office. This was the age when I had found a way towards my independence. This was also that time when I had finding my own identity. I was trying to find what exactly I like and dislike which is not influenced by the people around me such as my family and friends.

One such like that I found out was that I am in love with rock music. I had been loving all genres of rock music - metal, heavy metal, industrial metal, punk, goth, black, grunge, indie, experimental, or any genre of rock. My playlist had been filled with various rock anthems. I had been loving everything about the rock music - the dark and moody lyrics, the raspy vocals, the instrumental solos, everything had been attracting me towards the world of rock music.

While exploring my love towards rock music I realised why I had been liking the rock music so much. While I had been loving all the elements of rock music there was one particular element that I loved more than anything else. It was the guitar.

Whenever I had been listening to the rock music I was enthusiastically awaiting the guitar solo. Whenever I would hear the guitar I could feel the emotions of that song. I would feel the pain and sadness that was effectively conveyed by the guitar. Not to bring down the efforts of other musicians but I must say that it was the guitarists that had pulled my heart strings.

It was one rainy night when I had been listening to the rock music. While listening to my favourite song and its guitar solo a thought crossed my mind, "what if I learn the guitar?" It was a revolutionary thought for me. I had always loved music but had no training or learning towards it. I had no knowledge about music but suddenly because of my love for rock music I had come up with an idea of learning a musical instrument.

That night I kept thinking about it. I kept wondering if I have the capabilities to learn guitar. I kept dreaming that once I take the guitar lessons I would become a guitarist just like the ones that I like. I would play guitar on the stage. I imagined myself on the stage playing the guitar, doing the headbanging, and the audience clapping for me. It did feel like a dream that I wanted to achieve. But that time I decided to sleep on it.

Next morning when I woke up I still had the thought of learning the guitar on my mind. I could not shake off that thought. Then I started thinking more about it. I told myself that I was old enough to make the decisions for myself. I had been earning hence I had the money to buy the guitar and to enroll myself for the guitar lessons. I did not have to depend on anybody to take the next steps.

That is whrn I made the decision that I was going to learn the guitar. That time I did not know that the journey is going to be a difficult one.

Did that too but that was not helpful. I will explain it in the next chapter.

I love how you explained the journey. It is building slowly and taking shape. I also liked the you decided show your vulnerable side by discussing a failure. Looking forward to reading more.
