Yesterday I came across a comedy skit by Hayley Morris. In this skit she had shown that the protagonist was cleaning her bag. The contents of the bag were discussing among themselves that who would be discarded and who should be discarded. While showing various items which were residing inside her bag she had masterfully shown the reality. That in her bag were 5 lipsticks out of which she was not using any. She had three lip balms of which she was using only one and another one had expired several years ago. When I saw this video not only I found it entertaining but also it was relatable to me.
After watching this video I immediately went to my own wardrobe. I very well knew that I had quite a few cosmetics in my wardrobe that did not belong there. I found that I had three lipsticks in my custody of which one had expired and the other one had reached its rock bottom. About the expired lipstick I had completely forgotten that it was still in the existence. I immediately picked it up and discarded it in the dustbin.
The lipstick that had reached the bottom was reserved to be applied with brush. I tried to remember when I had applied it using the brush. I did not remember a single instance. This lipstick had been sitting there for over 3 months without being used. I had to make the harsh decision. I three it in the dustbin.
Then I moved to lip balms. I had one lip balm that I was using. The other lip balm had finished several months ago. I had kept it with me because I liked the container of it. I had planned to wash that container and use it to store safety pins. This was the moment when I had to decide whether to clean it or to throw it away. I made a decision and went to clean it right away. After cleaning it I placed safety pins in it.
Then I moved to the next section that was related to nails. I had four nail paints stored in the wardrobe. I tried to remember when I had bought them. I had bought all of them several months ago. Now all of those nail paints had completely dried. There was no use of those nail paints because now a days I do not apply nail paints. Within seconds I decided to throw them away.
Then I saw the nail paint removers of two types. One was in a container to be applied on to a cotton pad and then to the nails. The other one was soaked cotton pads. Since I had not been using the nail paint storing the remover did not make any sense to me. I threw them away.
Within 10 minutes I was able to declutter my tiny cosmetic section. Now I have only one lipstick and lip balm which I have been using on a regular basis. One fancy container that stored safety pins. All the things I had were important and useful. After decluttering I felt calm. I felt that I had let go of the dead weight that had been holding me back.

My skin is so allergic, hence i don't prefer to use this cosmetics quite often 😔❤️❣️
This is literally every makeup lover's drawer ever! 😭 Total controlled chaos—you know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess from the outside. Spotting that e.l.f. powder right in the middle makes it even better!
this blog felt so relatable. I too of 10 keep the cosmetics to be used for different uses. I keep the old nail paints to be used for art and craft. button fortunately I really use them and they just pile up in my wardrobe. I do feel that I should also declutter my wardrobe and throw away the things I know longer use.
