There is a certain kind of peace that comes with being able to afford the things you want without having to explain yourself to anyone. Not necessarily expensive things or a luxurious lifestyle, but the little things that make an ordinary day feel better. Buying a book because the cover caught your attention, getting your favourite makeup product, ordering something you have been craving, or going somewhere simply because you feel like it.
Sometimes, it's not even about the money itself. It's about the freedom to make your own choices without feeling guilty, calculating every expense in your head, or wondering whether asking for something will make you a burden on someone else. It's about being able to say, "I want this," and knowing that you can take care of it yourself.
I think one of the most underrated dreams is financial independence. People often imagine success as having a huge house, an expensive car, designer clothes, or a life that looks impressive to everyone else. But for some of us, success looks much quieter. It looks like paying for our own education, buying something for our parents without worrying about the cost, having savings for an unexpected situation, or being able to enjoy a simple outing without spending the entire evening feeling guilty about the money.
There's also something deeply personal about earning your own money. Even a small amount can change how you see yourself. It reminds you that you're capable of learning, working, making decisions, and slowly building a life that belongs to you. You begin to understand that independence isn't something that arrives all at once. Sometimes it starts with the smallest paycheck, the first purchase you make with your own earnings, or the first time you contribute to your household.
And honestly, I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting a comfortable life. We don't have to pretend that money doesn't matter just to sound humble or grateful. Of course, money cannot buy every kind of happiness, but financial stability can remove many worries that make happiness difficult to enjoy. It can give you options, security, and the freedom to leave certain situations without feeling trapped.
I hope everyone gets to experience the kind of life where their needs don't feel like burdens and their little wishes don't feel like impossible luxuries. A life where you can enjoy what you've worked for, help the people you love, and make choices without constantly being afraid of the price. Maybe that's what I'm really praying for: not a perfect life, not endless luxury, but enough independence to live peacefully, enough money to feel secure, and enough freedom to enjoy the things that make me happy without having to justify every single one of them.
What does financial freedom mean to you? Is it being rich, or simply being able to afford the life you want without depending on anyone?

When it comes to financial freedom, is it more important to
