Writing: hobby or saviour?

AnonymousJul 25, 2026188 words

Writing is not just a hobby, now it's a part of my life which I can't resist. I've been writing about thoughts, emotions, days, good or bad moments in my diary since 2022 and so far now I've realised that writing really saved me so many times, like I can write about anything without being judged or having any fear of being exposed. I'm someone who doesn't like to share actual feelings to any person so I write, write about what I feel because I know my diary would never back stab me unless my diary is being open in front of third person in my absence, which really happened sometimes, and the person who tried to read it is the ones who knew, I am so possessive about my diary and don't want to share!! Why are people like this??

Sometimes I just think to burn my diaries so that no one can even try to know me but I really can't stop myself writing again and again so even if I do burn them, it's totally foolish...

Let me know what you guys think about this?

while i really really believe that physical journaling is a beautiful and powerful way of expressing, I believe if you fear someone reading your vulnerable thoughts through them, you should switch towards digital journaling, for which i think this app is pretty great.

i think this app is rrally good that way, we can write and no one is going to judge us because even if they do, they dont know us.. i feel like writing can be a sabiour though for sure

True. Writing is a cathartic process. It is almost like venting out, but writing is more silent and peaceful than venting out. I too feel much relaxed and composed after writing my thoughts, feelings, and emotions
