Women

While reading newspaper I came across the news about a woman who was abused by her professor, this is not the only news, there are many, this is so common, every day , every minute, every second some one is suffering, . A teacher who is considered as a guiding light, the one who is supposed to show us right path same teacher is accused of molestation, is this the repercussions of "kalyug" or people have lost their moral values, they have lost themselves while choosing right or wrong, they are not able to control their lust, lust towards his student. I do not know as a society where are we going. No one is safe in the country, not even a new born girl child, just a month old girl child is not safe here, not even a seventy years old women who is waiting for a upcoming few left peaceful days. This is the high time , we need to ask ourselves, we need to ask our system, our policies, we need to question every one, but first ask yourself why are we failing as a society. I understand we can not eradicate it completely, this is kind of impossible, but atleast we can bring it to the lowest just like many countries. India has been the spot of crime against women. Recently we have celebrated, navratri, nine or ten days completely dedicated to goddess, goddess who is their in every single woman. But unfortunately we have made a society where the same women can not move freely, whether you believe in the goddess Durga or not but you must have your own faith and religion . Why just few days, why we can not provide them free environment. As a woman myself even if I reach the college early and very few people are there i fear to stay in the class and instead of staying alone in the class i prefer to stay out side the class in the college premise, this is the fear we all feel every single time. While traveling we have to be very careful about who is there in the bus , women are there or not, if it is empty or very few are there i prefer to leave the bus instead of getting in to it, even while walking I have to maintain myself, i have to take care of my dress just to prevent my self from all those wrongfuly staring eyes. Being a woman i understand what everyone out there has been facing, that's why let us make a society where every single women, men and all the single person feel safe .

When walking alone, do you

Women are not safe. Period. There is no debate about it. Crimes against women keep increasing day by day on a global scale. No western country is an exception too where women feel safe. This is the high time to evaluate why the environments continue to be unsafe for women.

Men often joke that why there should be a women's day when every day is women's day. But is that so? If every day was women's day, why do we not feel safe? Every place we visit, we need to be careful. Nowhere we can relax and we can keep our guard down. We are always in a flight and fight mode. Even in 2026, as a woman, I feel unsafe at most places.

I really like this perspective because celebrating women should never be limited to a festival or a particular day. It's easy to worship goddesses and talk about women's strength, but the real meaning lies in how we treat women in our everyday lives. Every woman deserves respect, freedom, safety, and the right to make her own choices without constantly having to prove her worth. Sometimes we forget that the women around us are also fighting their own battles, carrying responsibilities, hiding their worries, and trying their best even when nobody notices. A woman shouldn't have to be extraordinary to deserve kindness; simply being human should be enough. I think the real celebration begins when respect becomes a habit rather than something we practise only on special occasions. ❤️
