When we realise someone’s value too late
I think the saying, “ mil Gaya toh Mitti aur Kho Gaya to Sona” means “ if you have it, it feels like dust, when you lose it, it feels like gold” is actually very true.
Sometime we do not understand the value of a person while they are still around us. We get used to their presence, they cause their messages. They care and even the little things for us. Because they are always there, we start thinking that they will always be there.
Maybe that is where we make our biggest mistake.
When someone genuinely care about us, we may not notice it properly. We might take their efforts for granted because they become part of our life. We expect them to understand us, forgive us, listen to us and stay even when we do not read them the way they deserve. At the time, we may not think about it.
Then one day, they stop.
They stop calling. They stop checking on us. They stop trying to fix things. They slowly become distant and eventually they are no longer part of our daily life. That is usually when we start noticing all the things we know before.
We remember the small conversations. We remember how they used to ask if we reached home safely. We remember that they listen to us when we were upset. We remember the little things they did without expecting anything in return
And suddenly, those things feel much more valuable.
I think losing someone can make us understand their importance, but sometimes that understanding comes too late. We may wish we had behaved differently or appreciate them more when we had the chance. We may even wish that they would come back. But I have also realised that missing. Someone does not always mean they should come back into our life
Sometime we understand someone’s value only after they leave, but that does not erase the reason they left. If a person had already been hurt, disappointed or made to feel unimportant, we cannot expect them to return just because we finally realise what they mean to us.
There is a difference between recreating someone’s absence and being ready to have them in your life again.
If someone comes back on their own, that is their choice. But if they have moved on, I think we should respect that too. We cannot keep our door open forever, just because we realise someone’s important late.
People are not object that we can ignore and then pick up again whenever we like. They have feelings, little bit and their own lives.
Maybe that is the real meaning behind the same. We often realise the value of something only after losing it. But once we understand, we should learn from it and instant of repeating the same mistake.
Some people may become precious to us after they are gone. We can miss them, remember them and even regretting losing them. But that does not mean, we have to bring them back.
Sometime the right thing is simply to appreciate what they wants me to us, except that we lost them and make sure we never take the people We still have for granted.
When you finally realise someone's value after they've left, you should
