unasked opinions

A little Girl, looking up to a grown woman who Seemed perfectly beautiful, slim, and confident. Back then, she did not Understand what real beauty meant. just observing people around her and slowly started forming ideas about herself based on what they said.

a child who was often judged and bullied by society and even by some relatives, mostly about her appearance. She still remember how casually people would comment on her body. They would say things like she should start working out, go on a diet, or that she don’t look good in certain clothes because she was “fat”. These were not strangers on the internet. These were real voices around her when she was just around 11 years old.

At that age, you don’t have the emotional strength to separate yourself from harmful opinions and harmful words. You just absorb everything. Slowly, without even realising it, she started believing that her birth and beauty were only about how she looked from the outside. No one really talks to a child about inner confidence, kindness, or self-worth. Instant she was learning that appearance was everything.

These comments stayed with her more than she showed..

Even when she smiled or acted normal, something inside her started changing. Poor little girl became more aware of how she looked in clothes , how people might see her and how she was not “good enough “ in their eyes.

By the age of 13, she started a weight loss journey. Yes, at 13. While most kids around her were still thinking about what games to play, what chocolates to eat, or what fun things to do after school, she was already carrying a different kind of responsibility..the responsibility of how she looked.

Looking back now, she realise how heavy that burden was for such a youage. She was not just trying to be “fit” she was trying to be accepted. She was trying to meet standards that were not even her in first place. The saddest part of being a girl, is that society always has something to say. If you are thin, they comment. If you are curvy, they comment. If you dress a certain way, if you don’t, They judge. If feels like no matter what you do, there is always something wrong in someone’s eyes.

I believe many girls go through this silently. If you ask them how they feel about their appearance, many of thwm carry insecurities that were not originally theirs. These insecurities are oftern planted by repeated comments.

As childrens, we never naturally think something is wrong with our nose, body or face. We simply exist. But over time. Society slowly teaches us what to dislikes about ourselves. And sometimes, people project their own insecurities onto others without even realising how deeply it can affect someone.

Over time, i also started understanding something important that judgement often comes from peoples own insecurity. When people comment harshly on other, it is not always about the other person. Sometimes it affect what they struggled with initially. This experience shaped the way i see myself and others. It taught me how deeply words can affect a young mind, how important it is to be careful about with what we say to others, especially to children who are still learning who they are, so i can just say be humble.
