Translate for me

I work as a freelance research participant with an academic research platfotm. Everyday I receive studies which require my inputs as an end user or as a potential customer. Just that everyday, this morning I received a study which turned out to be a unique experience.
This morning i logged into my academy research platform. I was eagerly waiting for a study to appear in my worklist. I got a pop up notification. My eyes lit up. I was delighted because I was going to earn really well with that study.
I clicked on "participate in study" option. It took me to the study page. What I saw next made me surprised. The study was in Spanish. All the questions where ask in Spanish language. There was no option to translate the study page from Spanish to English. The questions and the options to were in Spanish. I first tried to read and see if I can understand anything that was written. However it was a failed attempt and I could not understand anything that was written in Spanish. I was a little disappointed. But I was not going to give up so easily.
I opened Google Translate in another window. I copied each question from the study page into Google Translate to understand what it says in English. Similarly I paste it the multiple choices also in Google Translate to understand what they mean. Sure it took me little longer but still it was helpful. For each question I was taking 3 to 4 minutes to answer rather then 1 minute if that would have been in English. Anyway I did struggle a little but then I succeeded with the first part of the study.
The study was time bound. It took me a good amount of time for translation and answering the questions. The study got timed out and I was not able to complete it till the end. When I saw the popup notification of time out I felt a little sad. I was enjoying the study but the language barrier made it difficult for me to complete it. The "time out" notification on my screen made me little sad and disappointed.
But then I decided to brush it off. I did receive compensation for my participation though it was not the full amount. I thought to myself that I had given my entire effort to this study. I did not give up because of the language barrier and tried my best to continue with the best possible means. The fight was important. The determination was crucial.
I learnt an important lesson with that study. I learnt that if we put our efforts we will still get results. Do this result would not be as per the expectation yet we would still be happy with those results. The efforts are the ones that make the results delightful. It is not always the destination but the journey that makes everything memorable.
This study give me a new hope that I can venture into any difficult task and would still learn and achieve something from it. I should focus on journey rathor than destination and the effort will be worthwhile.
