That must have hurt a lot, especially when you expected understanding instead of judgment. Real friendships shouldn’t feel like transactions, and being there emotionally matters way more than just money.

Honestly, I think what hurt you wasn’t even that she asked someone else for money. It was the way she used everything she’d done for you in the past to make you feel guilty. Friendship shouldn’t be measured by who can give money when someone asks. If you genuinely didn’t have it, saying no doesn’t make you a bad friend. Especially when you’re already going through financial struggles, a real friend should understand that your situation doesn’t mean you care about them any less. You deserved understanding, not guilt.
