The uniform individuality
Sometimes I wonder when the World became so beige. Walk through the city today and you will notice it. Buildings are grey. Cars are black or white or silver. Cafe's all look the same with wooden tables and hanging lights and carefully arranged plants. Clothing follows the same palette- black hoodies and white sneakers and oversized neutral tones. Open social media and every profile seems to blend into the next. Somewhere along the way individuality quietly began wearing a uniform.
It is not the just the colors we lost. We lost the willingness to be different. There was a time when people built strange things just because they could. Houses gad personality. Book shelves were craved by hands. Cafe's reflected the dream of their owners instead of the latest trend or a template. Children's toys were wildly imaginary. Cartoons embraced impossible shapes, exaggerated expression and the worlds that no obeyed no rules except creativity. Today everything feels polished and optimised and designed to appeal to the wildest audience possible. Safe has replaced memorable.
Even our creativity often feels recycled. Every few months there is a new trend and suddenly everyone is dressing the same and speaking the same and editing the video the same way and looking the same after make up and even telling the same words in opinion. We call it self expression and yet so much of it is imitation. Algorithms reward familiarity not originality. If something works once it gets replaced until it becomes impossible to tell where inspiration ended and copying began.
May be that is why genuinely original ideas feels so refreshing now. They remind us that human intelligence is still alive. Every great invention is still alive. Every great invention, every unforgettable movie and every timeless painting and every revolutionary book existed because someone was willing to look strange before they looked brilliant m Innovation jas always required the courage to disappoint expectations. Yet today we are often too afraid of being judged, ignored it recieving fewer liked to risk creating something different.
I don't think technology is the enemy. I think we have the oppertunities and tools that the previous generation can only dream of. We got access to a lot of information that gives us more room to open to new perspective and new creativity but honestly everything looks the same slope.
Even the architecture has become so mundane and plain. Like from the tap design or the pipe design or the lock design to the building design that has become plain and boring and old. When I was child looking g at those majestic design and architecture eas enough to make my mind clear but now everything looks the same and nothing captivates my mind and it is honesty very depressing.
And when I looked into it the reason of found is the lack of money to invest in it and the lack of skills to do it. There is a lack of skills because the previous generation did not consider art as a good future for their children and now we are void of good artists of nature.
Is the homogenization of our world a failure of our culture's creativity, or just a symptom of modern efficiency?
Your vote is final.
this is something even I have observed. the world is not just without colours but it also looks like it is without a soul. the world does not look much you are because of the neutral tones but it looks dull and depressing. everyone wants to look the same. I am really bored of the excessive simplicity and monochrome looks
