The quiet ache

AnonymousJun 4, 202691 words

There is a different kind of loneliness that arrives in crowded rooms.

It sits beside you silently while laughter fills the room, when conversations move around you like waves that never reach the shore.

You smile when youre supposed to, nod at the right moments, its a strange ache, wanting to understand yourself without having to explain yourself.

Wanting someone to notice, the pause before your answer, the tiredness behind your jokes, the way your eyes linger into distance for half a second too long.

Maybe thats what loneliness really is.

This is like a saying that goes Not alone but lonely...Almost everyone can deeply relate to that...It is beautifully written

masterfully written. Feeling lonely in a room full of people is more painful than feeling lonely in a room where you are alone.
