The person I thought I would become

When I was ten years old I had a clear idea of of who I would become.

It was never someone sitting behind a desk and staring at spreadsheets, answering emails or rushing between meeting. I didn't understand corporate life then. I didn't know what deadlines were, what office politics felt like kr how exhausting ut could be to spend an entire day pretending to have more energy than you actually did.

When I was ten I wanted to be someone completely different. May be an astronaut. May be an explorer who travelled to places that nobody has ever seen.

My dreams changed every few weeks. Sometimes it depends on the last movie I watched. But the common thing I had in all that is that everything was full of adventures.

Now years later I sit in an office surrounded by glass walls and artificial lights. My calender is filled with meetings. My inbox is always waiting. Sometime during lunch I catch my reflections in the dark screen of my laptop and wonder what my team old self would think of me.

Will they be disappointed? Maybe. At first.

He might ask What are the adventures? Where is the excitement? Why are you spending so much time working?

And honestly aj wouldn't answer immediately. Because life don't follow the plan I created at ten. But it is not the same as saying something went wrong.

Everything I did, I did because it has to be done. The truth is that I have become someone my younger self would have never imagined. I have learned to handle the pressure and real responsibility that my you fet self could not have known and imagined. I have survived failures that no one could have predicted. I have learned that being an adult is not always about being the person that you once thought you would become.

I think that little kid would eventually thought for few moments and hope that he would not completely be disappointed. Because when I look back there is nothing I would have changed if I had the chance to. I beleive that I made the best out of every situation that life threw at me.

I don't like what I said but I will not change what I did because anything else is not what I wanted.

I didn't become who I thought I would be. Maybe that is okay because the person I know things that child could never have.

> This was a beautiful reflection on the gap between childhood dreams and adult reality. I especially liked that it didn't treat growing up as failure—it acknowledged that life changes us in ways our younger selves could never predict. Honest, thoughtful, and quietly hopeful.
