The people we meet for a short time
Some people stay in our lives for many years, while others are only with us for a short time. It is surprisingly how someone can become an important part of our daily routine, and then slowly disappear from it. Life has a way of bringing people together and quietly taking them in different direction. When I was younger, I believe that every meaningful friendship would last forever. I thought that if two people cared about each other, they would always stay connected. As I have grown older, I have realised that life does not always work that way. People change, priority change, and sometime distance grows without any big argument or reason.
Looking back, I remember many people who were once a big part of my life. Some work classmates, some teachers and some were friends, I talked to almost every day. At that time, I never imagined that we would stop talking one day. It all felt so normal that I thought those moments would continue forever. what surprise me that most is how quickly life moves forward list of one day you are sharing jokes, making plans and talking for hours. Then, little by little the conversation become shorter, the meetings become less and you stop hearing from each other. Sometime nobody is at fault. Life simply takes people on different parts.
For a long time, I felt sad whenever I thought about those people. I wonder if I could have done something differently. I kept asking myself why some relationships and ended even when there was no fight. But over time, I understood that not every relationship is made to last forever. I question God about it, but some people enter our life to teach us something, support us during one chapter or simply give us beautiful memory before moving on. That realisation changed the way I look at the past. Instead of feeling disappointed, I now try to feel grateful. Every person I have met has left something behind. Some taught me confidence, some taught me patient and other showed me what kind of relationship I value. Even the difficult people help me grow by teaching me important lessons and now i understand my worth.
I also remind myself that I have probably been that temporary person in someone’s life. Just as I remember some people, someone else may remember me. We all become part of each other stories, even if only for a little while. This thought makes me appreciate the people who are part of my life today. I try not to take them for granted because I know nothing stays exactly the same forever. Instead of worry about how long someone would stay, I want to value the time we have together right now.
Life is full of short chapters and not every chapter supposed to become the whole book.
Some people stay for our season, some for many years and some only for a few moments. That does not make those relationship less meaningful. They become part of who we are, and the memories they live behind, continue to travel with us long after the conversation have ended.
i feel the same way. wondering if i shouldn’t have done one thing or the other, but then i realise that you know, it was meant to turn out this way.
I think growing up is realizing that some relationships end without anyone doing anything wrong.
