The mysterious office smell

Something smelle temblein our office today . By eleven, three people had accused our newest colleague of bringing strange food. He looked so uncomfortable that I nearly defended him, although I had privately wondered the same thing. At lunchtime, I opened my drawer and discovered a forgotten lunchbox from last Friday. The smell was unmistakably mine. Nobody let me forgot it for the rest of the day. I apologised to him, and he laughed harder than anyone. I went home embarrassed, but grateful. It is astonishing how confidently we can judge someone else when the truth is sitting unnoticed in our own drawer.
