the joy of being alive

AnonymousJul 8, 2026Gratitude130 words

there is not much that can truly encapsulate the joy of being alive as much as being with your loved ones can. a certain moment in which the entire household is filled with laughter, when we collapse into tears as the combined happiness overwhelms us all, and the good that we made together lies cold under the cutlery in our hands.

seasons change, and the earth resumes its gentle march onwards, and all of a sudden, the children have grown up. and yet, the house is filled with the same laughter it always had, echoing in the walls and every inch of the space, as if no one truly left. and then, at the very end, we hold one another, and the joy of being alive is found once more.

This was beautiful to read. It reminded me that no matter how much life changes, the love and laughter we share with the people we cherish always find a way back home.

Happiness is inbsuch simple moments. We really do not need big wins to become happy, such small pleasures make us happier.

I don’t usually comment, but this felt worth it. There’s something comforting about the way you describe ordinary moments. It made me appreciate the people waiting for me at home.
