Ouch that must have hurt. When friends do that it stings, especially when they know it is our birthday. When they put such stunt it feels intentional. I am sorry you had to go through this on your birthday.

I had many of this moments happening with me eventually I stopped relying on others for my happiness although I know it’s easy said than done it’s fine to want to be loved don’t judge yourself for any of this ! I’m sure you will get whatever u want someday and many good friends they exist too
