The Echo from Ahead
The Echo From Ahead
The coffee is cold again. I’ve been staring at this screen for an hour, the cursor a blinking judgment. In these moments, when the discipline feels like a punishment and the goal is just a blur on the horizon, the doubt gets loud. It asks if this is all a colossal waste of my one life.
And today, a new question surfaced from the exhaustion: if the person I'm fighting to become could send a single message back through time, what would it say?
I don’t think it would be a simple ‘Keep going.’ It would be quieter, more specific. I imagine the voice would say, *Thank you.* Thank you for this morning, when getting out of bed felt like lifting a gravestone. Thank you for choosing the difficult work over the easy distraction, for the thousandth time.
I know you’re terrified this is all for nothing. From where I’m standing, I can tell you the specific dreams you’re chasing will change in ways you can’t predict. But the person you are becoming in the pursuit? That is the whole point. Every doubt you wrestle into submission, every small, unseen act of integrity—you are sending those forward like stones for me to build with. You aren’t just running a race; you are forging the legs that will carry me. This resilience is the bedrock of the peace I now know.
The echo fades. I’m still here, in the quiet room with the cold coffee. The weight hasn’t vanished, but it feels different. It feels like something I’m holding, not something that’s crushing me.
I read a quote that goes something like the past is history and the future is mystry and the present is a gift that is why it is called a present. Enjoy it every minute you got.
I think we think a lot about future rather than staying in the present. we worry so much about what is going to happen next that we do not live in the moment. I wish be good stay in the moment more often
