The dream I had
I had a strangest dream last night. The sky was silver. Not blue or black. It was silver...as if the moon had been melted and was being poured across the heavens above.
The world beneath it was broken. Towering cities of iron streched into the clouds and their windows glowing like the eyes of giant machines. The streets were silent except for the hum of flying sentinels that patrolled the air like metal vultures.
No one smiled and no one laughed. No one even spoken above a wisper. In that word emotions were forbidden. The rulers called themselves the Keepers of order. They were friend made from cystal and bones of dragons long thought exitinict.
Their magic allowed them to read memories and erase dreams and bend reality itself. People obeyed them bc they were afraid.
I was afraid too. At first. But somewhere in that ruined world hidden underneath the roots of a mountain sized tree there was a rebellion. And somehow I was leading them.
I was not a king. I was not a chosen hero of some sort. Just a nobody with sword made of syarlight and far too much stubborness.
My army were not that much either. There were witches who stitched spells into their clothing. Gaints who carried entire hourse on their backs. A blind gragon who navigated using songs. A hod with nine tails who speaks only in riddles and nothing else.
All were broken people and forgotten people and the kind of people the Keepers thought did not matter. Which made them dangerous.
Night after night we fought. Not for freedom or not for power but for freedom and for the right to dream.
The final battle came beneath the silver sky. The Keepers stood stop a floating palace made of black crystal. Their armies coverd in horizon. Thousands upon thousands upon millions.
Yet nobody retreated. The dragon sang and the mountains answered. The witches filled the air with the air with constellations made of fire. The gaints tore apart walls that had stood for centuries.
And I claimed the palace. Step by step. Floor by floor until I reach the throne room. The keeper king was waiting.
He looked ancient. Not of old ages but old in spirit. Like someone who forgot what joy felt like.
"You cannot defeat me" he said
May be not I replied..
But people don't need me to win
He laughed...and then the magic around us exploded and the stars shatters and lighting struck across the sky. Entire peices of reality folded like paper. For what felt like days we fought.
Until finally I drove the sword of starlight into the crystal throne. The palace trembled and then craxks opened all around the palace. Then the sky itself tore and light poured from each and every corner . It was golden and warm and alive.
The people looked up and for the first time in generations the remembered how to hope.
My alarm clock was screaming and then I opened my eyes. My room was exactly the same. No dragon and magic sword and no revolution. Just morning light from the curtains. I still wish I had slept for extra five minutes...
