The desire to travel the world
I have always fell that the would is much bigger than the little corner of it that I know sometimes, I look at pictures of distant places, hear someone speaking a language I cannot understand, or watch a video about a completely different culture. And I find myself woundering what it would actually feel like to be there . It is not just the desire to take beautiful pictures or visit famous tourist attractions.bi want to experience the world with curiosity to see how differently people live, think, eat, celebrate, communicate, and understand life.
One of the things I look forward to the most is food . I want to sit in small local restaurants, try dishes I have never heard of taste unfamiliar spices and understand the stories behind traditional recipes. I want to know what people eat at home. What they prepare during festivals and why certain foods are important to their culture. I think food can tell you something about a place that a tourist guide cannot. Sometimes a single meal can introduce you to a history a tradition, or a way of life.
Then there are the places themselves. I wantbto experience crowed city streets filled with lights and noise, quiet villages surrounded by mountains, beaches that look completely different from the ones I have grown up seeing and landscapes that I have only encountered through photographs. I want to experience different climates too, from places covered in snow to warm tropical countries, and understand how the environment shapes the way people live.
More than anything, I want to meet people. I want to hear different languages being spoken around me, even when I cannot understand every word. I want to learn simple phrases from locals, listen to their stories understand their traditions, and see the world through perspectives different from my own. There is something beautiful about discovering that people can live completely different lives while still sharing the same emotions, hopes, fears, and dreams..
I also want to experience the diversity of the world without constantly comparing it to what I already know . I want to walk through unfamiliar streets without knowing exactly. Where they lead, participate in traditions I did not grow up with and sometimes get completely lost and figure my way back. I want to experience the wounder of nor knowing everything.
Maybe that is what attracts me most about travelling. It reminds me that my way of living is only one possibility among thousands. There are countless languages I have never heard, foods I have never tasted, places I have never seen and stories I have never encountered. The world feels almost impossibly large. And somehow, that makes me wantbto see more of it. Not less. I don't just want to travel across countries. I want to collect experiences, perspectives, flavours, conversations and memories along the way.
