The day I realized I don't have to understand everyone
Today I had a. Conversation with someone whose choices I could not understand I kept trying to find a reason that made everything fit logically. Eventually I realised I did not need to understand every decision someone makes . People have histories, fears, priorities, and experience I cannot fully see.
Online discussions often show how quickly people judge unfamiliar choices without knowing the complete story. That made me reflect today.Understanding someone is valuable but complete understanding is not different from mine without becoming something I need to solve.

We grow up believing that empathy means reaching into every corner of another person’s mind—that to accept someone, we first have to make sense of why they think, act, or hurt the way they do. We exhaust ourselves trying to map out motives that aren't ours, searching for logic in places where emotions don't follow rules. The day you realize you don't have to understand everyone is the day you stop carrying a weight that was never yours to hold. You realize that people carry histories you’ll never read, fears you’ll never experience, and quiet battles you’ll never see. Respect doesn't require complete comprehension; peace comes from accepting that some people will remain a puzzle, and that’s completely okay. Letting go of the need to decode everyone doesn't make you distant—it just leaves you with enough room to extend grace without demanding an explanation first.
Not every choice needs to make sense to us. Sometimes, respecting someone means accepting that their story is different from ours. ❤️
