The confident wrong answer

Anonymous9 hours agoWrite Freely101 words

I corrected Priya during a meeting today with the confidence of someone who had personally invented the subject. Five minutes later, we discovered I was completely wrong. I wanted the floor to swallow me. Priya simply smiled and said , "Happens to everyone," before helping me fix the report. I apologised after the meeting, expecting her to tease me, but she barely seemed bothered. Somehow that made me feel worse and better at the same time. I had spent years believing that being respected meant never appearing foolish. Today, I discovered that the only person demanding perfection from me was myself.

we often assume a certain perfection upon ourselves that noone is demanding out of us, as such mistakes and errors become a sin more than a simple mishap. More people need to be like priya so thag the ones who want to claim and question things can do so without the fear pf being wrong before even beginning. Thats what makes us learn.
