The childhood dream
If you guys went to school in India, you would know that in early 2010s ,During our open house in school ,They used to arrange a scholastic book fair ,it was the most anticipated event of our school for kids .
They used to hand out a book list to each and everyone of us ,to write down the books we want /would like to purchase ,we all used to write down multiple names which we would like to read or purchase .after setting up the book fair stall few days before our results came out ,Our class teacher used to take us visit the stall everyday once a day before our recess .We all used to stand in lines ,and gently march forward while maintaining discipline, and they used to let us see and read any book we want for that particular period .My personal favourite used to be ,Geronimo Stilton ,a mouse who used to work as a writer and used to like cheese 🧀,He used to go on multiple events and experiences ,for example once he jojned a karate class,in another book he joined a law school ,one time when he came to Bollywood ,and acted in film industry ,while meeting his old childhood friends sia who had become a well knowned actress. In the book fair there were various genres of book available, from science fiction, non fiction ,ficton ,comic books and much more ,I remember that one period used used to feel like only few minutes, the time used to went by so quickly that we wouldn’t even realize that the break was over and the next class had already started .Me and my friend used to wait afterschool hours just to checkout the books and sometimes even we used to
Miss out on our school bus ,we it didn’t really affected much to us as we were really busy and into our book stall. In my first grade I bought a x-men comics that I really wanted and begged my father ,and the next semester He bought me a horror book called “This house is haunted” by Maureen bayless ,It was my first ever book I read completely ,my father used to read out this book for my sister and me ,if I wanted to buy a book,I would have to ask for my parents permission because I didn’t had that kind of money during that time .The only my father bought me book was in first and second grade ,I still have those with me ,still time to time I read them, not because I don’t have any other books, but reading them feels like I still am in middle school, and that book fair is taking place near me ,I always carry that book as it’s my comfort book and reading it always made me feel happy.I recently visited my school and I found out that those book fair no longer takes places ,I was very sad that I wouldn’t be able to experience those things again ,but I am glad that I got them earlier in my life .
When you find a childhood comfort, do you

This brought back such simple childhood memories, especially those school book fairs and waiting in line to explore new stories. Things felt so exciting back then, even the smallest moments.
This is such a wholesome memory. The way you described those book-fair days makes it feel like you’re taking us back there with you. There’s something really special about childhood books becoming comfort objects years later—not because of the stories alone, but because of everything attached to them: your father buying them for you, reading together with your sister, waiting for the book-fair periods, and being completely lost in those little worlds. Some childhood experiences really stay with us forever.
