Stationery store magic

I always tell myself that I am only going to buy one thing, maybe I need a pen, a notebook or pack of sticky notes. It sounds like a quick visit that will take only few minutes. But somehow, every time I walk into a stationary store I end up, leaving with much more than I originally planned. There is something about stationary stores that feel different from other shops. The moment I walk in, I feel excited without even knowing the Latest arranged notebook, colourful highlighters, pens, and Stickers immediately catch my attention. I suddenly forget what I come to buy because everything looks interesting. I have a habit of picking up every notebook just to feel the paper. Some have smooth pages, while other have a beautiful covers that make me want to start writing immediately.

But I already have enough notebooks at home, but then I convince myself that this one is last. Maybe this notebook will become my journal. Maybe this one will be for college notes list of somehow, I always find a reason to buy another one. Fans are another weakness of mind. Even if I already have plenty of working plan, I still stopped to look at every new design. I test them whenever there is a simple available and imagine how nice. My handwriting will look with a new pen. The deep down I know my handwriting will probably say the same, but buying a new pen, still feels exciting.

Then comes with the sticker notes, bookmarks, clip and highlighters. None of them are things I urgently need yet. They somehow end up in my shopping bucket. I tell myself they will help me stay organised or make studying more enjoyable. Sometime they actually do, and sometime they simply become part of my growing stationary collection.

The funniest part is that I often spend more time looking around, then actually shopping. I enjoy walking through every aisle, discovering products I have seen before list of even if I do not buy them. It is fun to imagine how I might use them one day. I think stationary store remind me of fresh beginning. A new notebook feels like a chance to write new idea. A fresh plan makes me believe I will become more organised. A colourful highlighter make me studying same a little less boring. These simple things bring a surprisingly amount of motivation.

Of course, when I reached the billing counter, I sometimes realise I have picked up far more than I imagined. What started as a quick trip for one pan has somehow turned into a small shopping spree. I usually laugh at myself because I already knew that this would happen.

Even after filling my shelves with notebooks and pen, I know I will still get excited the next time I visi a stationery store. It is about the happiness little things brings. Maybe this is why I never leave a stationary store empty-handed. Somehow, there is always one more notebook, one more than or one more tiny item that feels impossible to live behind.

Be honest: How many times have you bought stationery you didn't need, just because it was cute?

I completely relate to this. A stationery store has a different kind of charm. Even when I don’t need anything, I still enjoy looking around.
