Starting again isn’t easy

Starting again is never easy. I realised this today while looking at my old notes and making new goals. I decided to start a habit that I had a few months ago. I wanted to spend some time every day learning a new skills after work. It sounded simple, But when I sit down to begin, I got distracted very quickly by my phone, my mind keep thinking about how much easier it was when i was already following the habit starting from the beginning felt difficult.

I think this happen with many things in life. It is not only about building habits. Sometime, We have to start again after making mistakes, taking a break or changing our plan. Every new beginning comes with a little excitement, but it is also bring fear. We started questioning ourselves like what if i fail again? or what if I can’t stay consistent to this time? those thoughts can make every small task feel much harder.

Well, today, I tried to make things easier for myself instead of making a perfect plan. I made a simple schedule with small Goals. I decided Not to expect too much from day one. I remind myself that real progress does not happen overnight. It happen little by little through small efforts that we repeat every day. When i look back, i realise this was not the first time i had started over, there were other moment when i had to restart something after giving up or taking a long break. At first, everything felt slow, but after a few days, it become easy. that remind me that the hardest part is usually just taking the first step.

I also realise that I don’t have to be perfect. I don’t need to complete everything in one day or compare myself with other that how other are so amazing and another hand, I am not doing that well. Maybe sometimes just showing up is enough, maybe sometimes not running away from your responsibility is enough, maybe When you are not feeling well, but you still showing up for ur loved ones is enough.

While coming to the point, today’s study session was not amazing, and i did not learn a lot, but i still finished what i plan to do so that small achievement made me feel better because i knew that i was moving forward instead of standing still. Starting again also bring different emotions. Sometimes I feel disappointed because I think about the time I wasted. At the same time, I also feel hopeful because I know every new beginning gives me another chance to improve. I have Heard many people talk about starting over in different part of our lives, And it remind me that everyone struggle sometimes. It doesn’t matter when we have failed. It also means we are trying again and again, still not giving up.

Today, I decided that I will keep taking small step instead of waiting for the perfect moment. Maybe the real success is not starting perfectly. Maybe it is simply having the courage to begin again.

there is no perfect timing. we should not wait for any search imaginary concepts. even if it is a small improvement it still is a big achievement. give yourself a pat on the back and keep going.
