Sinusitis story

I have sinusitis. Sometimes without any reason and without any warning, I start experiencing it.

The recent episode began yesterday. In the morning, I felt mild headache and light pain near the eye area. I ignored at first. By the afternoon, the pain started to spead across cheek area. By the evening, I started getting ear ache too. The pain started worsening. I still did not pay much attention. Hoping it would subside on its own (spoiler: it never does). I kept hoping that I would not have to take any medicine. Last night I slept for 2-3 hours only.

This morning, the matter was worse. Along with pain, I started feeling heaviness on my face. I could feel fluid retention on my face. I had difficulty opening my eyes. Headache kept getting worse. Seeing phone or computer screen became unbearable. Finally I decided to take medication.

I am raised in such a way that I was trained to avoid health issues. I was told, ignore it and it gets better. No it does not get better, rather it gets worse. However, this training is so ingrained in me that despite knowing the outcome, I still try to manage without any intervention. My parents do the same. They keep on saying that it will go away. But the ailments keep getting stroger if they are left untreated. I do have first hand experience with that. Still I try my luck everytime, I get unwell.
