She stayed with me
The rain was extremely heavy today, the kind of rain that makes it difficult to See properly once you step Outside. I was in the Metro with my friend, and by the time we reached Our station, the rain had become even heavier. We stood there for a moment, looking out side and wondering how we were going to get home.
My friend managed to find a rickshaw, which was honestly a relief because standing outside the rain did not feel like a good idea.
But when we looked inside, there was only one seat available.
My friend could have easily taken the rickshaw and left. Honestly, I would have understood. The rain was so heavy, and everyone was trying to find a way home. She had found a rickshaw, so would have been the easiest option for her.
But she did not leave.
She looked at me and she said “Abhi tujhe Chhod kar nahin Jaoongi Jab tujhe Rikshaw mil Jayega, Main kabhi Jaungi. Main tujhe Akela nahin Chhodungi Itni Baarish Mein.”
It was such a small thing, but hearing her say that made me feel really cared for.
She could have gotten into the rickshaw and gone home. There was no reason why she had to wait for me. She was also standing in the same, heavy rain, getting bad and probably await to reach home just as much as I do. Still, she choose to stay beside me.
We continued looking for another rickshaw. List of the rain was falling so heavy that everything around us looked blurry. People were running towards shops and building for shelter, cars were moving slowly and water was collecting on the road. Every few minutes, we would look around, hopefully whenever Rikshaw came by.
I remember feeling stressed because I just wanted to get home. But somehow, knowing that my friend was standing there with me made the situation feel much easier. We talked about the rain, complaining about how badly plan had turned out and laugh between everything.
She did not make the situation like a burden. She simply stayed.
I think that is what touched me the most.
Sometime we think friendship is about constantly talking, meeting every day or doing big things for each other. But movement like this, make me realise that friendship can be much easier. Sometimes it is just someone standing beside you when they could have left easily.
Eventually, we manage to find another rickshaw for me. Only after knowing that, I had a way to get home and she leave.
Even after reaching home, I kept thinking about what she had said.
It was just one sentence, but it means a lot to me
That they remembered me that care is often shown in very ordinary moments. It is not always about expensive girls, long conversation or dramatic gestures. Sometime it is simply waiting in the rain when you could have gone home, just because you do not want your friend to be alone.
I will remember that particular moment for a long time. Not because of how heavily it rained, but because when she had the chance to leave, she chose to stay.
And sometimes, that is kind of friendship, that means the most.
When your friend has a chance to go home easily, but you're stuck in the rain, you
Your vote is final.
