Service provider

"550/- for nothing. I don't even use my phone that much. I have hardly made 20-25 calls in the last month. All those were work related. They ended in less than a minute. Only a few were above 5 minutes. I don't use my mobile data because of the WiFi. I am hardly using anything and still paying 550/- per month. The corporate postpaid plan is literally robbing me," I was venting out to my mom.
"Why don't you change it then?" My mom innocently asked me.
"It is not that easy like your prepaid plans. This is the cheapest one I have in the postpaid category. I don't understand how I can bring this down," I responded with frustration.
"Change to prepaid," my mother continued to be helpful.
"I can't switch from postpaid to prepaid. I will have to change the service provider if I have to do that," my frustration was reaching a new level now.
"Well who is stopping you? You no longer need the corporate plan from your office. Besides you pay the bills yourself. Go and change the service provider. Take control," my mom said firmly. She sounded like a life coach. But she had provided the correct advice.
I thought to myself, why I could not think about this. I had no requirement for the corporate plan. I could relinquish it any time. Besides when I was still working with my old company, I had the same problem of high billing. I had given a thought several tines to change the service provider. I stopped myself only because the procedure was tedious. It could not be done by anyone. It could be done only in the service provider's gallery which operates during the general working hours and stays closed on Sundays. Also I was worried that if the network does not support then it would be difficult to go back to the gallery. These reasons were holding me back. But now as I do not work there, I see no hurdles. So I decided to change the service provider that very instance.
I marched into the office of a new potential service provider and asked them what is the procedure. They guided me with the procedure. I initiated the change and I started receiving the calls, texts, and SMS from my current service provider to not leave the network. While I was in the office of the new service provider, I had already received 5 calls and several texts.
It has been 3 hours since I initiated the change and I have already received at least 30 calls. But I have decided to not fall for their gimmicks.
This may sound like a very ordinary story. No wonder it is ordinary. But it is important to me. That is because I did something to change my present. I took steps for making my future better. I made an action plan and started working on it. It was a minor change and task. However it was put in action that is what mattered.
Doing the things you want can have a lot of obstacles but we will get a massive satisfaction after completing that and it is worth it all
Sometimes we ignore the things as they seem to be small, but after resolving them we realise that these small things are the reason for that restlessness.
i liked how such an ordinary situation became a reflection about taking action sometimes solving small everyday problems reminds us that change begins with one simple decision
