People slowly drifting apart

AnonymousJul 1, 2026519 words

Today I was thinking about how some friendship just slowly fade away without any big drama. It’s not because of a fight or argument. There are no harsh words towards each other or Sudden endings. It just distance that grows quietly over time we used to talk almost every day, sharing small stories and laughing about little things. But now conversation are less. Plans to meet, keep getting postponed for one reason or another. There Isn’t always one clear reason for it. I simply get busy for everyone, new responsibility, different schedules and different priorities. People in a separate direction. At first this made me feel a little sad and confused, but i wonder if i did something wrong or if the friendship was not strong enough. But now i am starting to accept that not all are meant to stay exactly the same forever. Some friendships are perfect for a certain season of life. They even teach you important lessons and then naturally move to background.

I still care about those old friends. I smile when I see their updates or remember good memories. But I am learning not to force connection that don’t flow easily anymore because I believe that not just love but friendship connection is from both sided, not from one sided. It feels healthier to let things be what they are now instead of feeling guilty or chasing them. People change, interest change change, and that is okay. That’s what life is, and it is what it is.

This slow drift has also made me value my current close relationships more. I try to put effort effort into that feel warm and easy right now. A short call, thoughtful message, or meeting for a quick coffee. This small action keep the good friendship, alive and strong.

But when I was a teenager, I often feel that friendships are more Important than family, but as i am adult, now i feel like friendships are okay, but family is something that always gonna support you, no matter what. Whenever you gonna fall, they will always be there to help you out. That’s why I think family is something that we have to always put on our first priority. Because people come and go, people change with time, but only family is there for you in your hard times.

I guess this is a normal part of growing up Not every person stay in your daily life, and that’s does not mean that past memories or good times was not real. I’m learning to feel grateful for the time we share instant of staying sad about the distance. Life keeps moving forward, and so do we some people drifted away gently, and sometimes that can be peaceful in its own quiet way.

I have also realised one thing that letting go does not always mean losing someone completely. Sometime it simply means accepting the people change, priorities shifts and different path lead us in different directions. Holding on the lessons , laughter and memory feels healthier than holding on the expectations that no longer fit the present..

this is relatable. I have experienced a lot of friendship where we drifted apart. there was no argument aur miscommunication but just lack of communication. we got busy with our life and did not have enough time for friends. maybe it is just a phase of growing up
