Once, I was travelling alone to a place I had never visited before. I was already nervous because I was not familiar with the route.

At one point, I realised that I had taken the wrong bus.I got down at the next stop and stood there with no idea what to do. My phone battery was almost dead, and I was beginning to panic.

A woman standing nearby noticed that I looked confused. She asked if I needed help.

I explained my situation. She checked the route on her phone and told me which bus I needed to take. She even waited with me until the correct bus arrived.

I thanked her and asked why she had taken the trouble to help a stranger.She simply said, “Someone helped me when I was new here too.”

That answer stayed with me.We often remember big achievements, expensive gifts and important events, but sometimes the moments we remember most are simple acts of kindness from people who did not have to help us.

We may not remember every person we meet, but we can choose to leave a positive memory in someone's life.
