Old top

I was cleaning my wardrobe. This is a monthly activity I do. It keeps my wardrobe organized and reminds me to shop less. I was doing it yesterday as per my routine. While keeping the clothes back in the wardrobe I stopped. I realised that I have not seen my favorite top - the top with animal print and yellow brown pattern. I have to have it in my wardrobe. I had worn it in this week itself.
I took out all clothes that I had folded and kept inside. I inspected each piece one by one, but I still could not find it. The thought of losing it made me uncomfortable. I marched straight to the kitchen to ask my mom.
"Have you seen my animal print top?" I asked a direct question.
"What is that?" My mom asked me, she had no idea what I was not talking about.
" Brown and yellow that looks like a leopards pattern. The top I had want to three days ago. I had a put it in the laundry and now I cannot find it anywhere. It is not in my wardrobe," I thought this description about sufficient.
"Oh that tiger like top. I had seen it in the laundry. I kept it somewhere but I don't remember if it was in your wardrobe or your sister's wardrobe. If it is not in your wardrobe then check it in your sister's. It must be there," my mother told me calmly.
" Why would you keep my clothes in her wardrobe? Do you still not know which are my clothes and which are hers? You see me wearing that top every other week and still you don't know it is mine? I don't understand what is the confusion here and how my clothes did end up in everybody else's wardrobe other than mine," I was really upset. This is a regular occurrence. When I need my clothes I am not able to find them because they are somewhere else.
" You do not need to get so upset about that. Tomorrow onwards I am not going to keep your clothes in your wardrobe," now my mother too was angry.
"Absolutely. For that you first need to know which are my clothes which you clearly have no idea about. You remember what my sister had worn 15 years ago but you do not remember what I am wearing yesterday. I don't even expect you to remember but at least sort the clothes accordingly. If she has not come here in this week why would her clothes be there in the laundry? Simple logic, but it seems you want to keep everything in her wardrobe. Do you enjoy saying me struggle to find my clothes every time? Is it fun to see that? What do you want me to spend my money on buying the same things again and again?" I was on the verge of tears. This year itself I had lost 4 black jeans because my mother thought they are my sister's. My sister packed them and took them home. When I needed them I did not have them. My frustration was building up with every lost piece. My noney was draining because my assumed that all clothes in my house belonged to my sister.
Finally I ended up crying because I was not able to find my favourite top and the frustration that followed after it. My emotions were mixed with anger, sadness, and frustration. It had all piled up because of the clothes that I had lost and the money that I had spend repurchasing them. And even after that my mother could not see what I was going through. According to her if it is not pain because of maintaining the relationship the pain did not matter.
With tears running down I declared my sister's wardrobe as well to find my own items. Nothing give me peace that day.
So sorry You had to go through that...I understand that it could be frustrating.... but you don't have to be that harsh to your mom...they are also humans and they also can make mistakes...hope you can find your favourite top
