Money money money

People often say that money cannot buy you happiness. For the longest time I believedvtagt without questioning it. It sounded noble and comforting even. But the older I grew the more I realise that the sentence is incomplete. Money cannot buy you happiness itself bit it can buy you peace and oppertunity and security and choices. And sometimes those things make happiness possible.

As children we rarely think about money. Food appears in the table and school fees are somehow paid and the light stays in and birthdays arraive with small birthday. We do not see the sacrifices happening behind the scene. We do not notice our parents choosing the cheapest option for themselves when they can have something so much better. We only begin to understand the value of money when the responsibility of earning it slowly becomes our own.

There is a quiet kind of dear that comes with financial uncertainty. It is the fear of an unexpected hospital bill. The fear of not being able to support your family. The fear of watching oppertunities slip away simple because you cannot afford them. Money cannot prevent every hardship. But it can soften so many of life's hardest blow. It gives people breathing room when life becomes difficult. And many people underestimate that.

At the same time I don't think making money should be our only goal. I have seen people become so busy making a living that they forgot to livem they chase bigger salaries and bigger houses and bigger titles only to realise they have forgotten birthdays, friendship, quiet evening with families and the simple jous that makes life beautiful. Wealth is a wonderful servent but a terrible master. When money becomes the measure of a person's eorthbwe begin losing sight of what truly matters.

Perhaps the real value of money lies in the freedom it provides. The freedom to choose a career you enjoy instead of one you desperately need. The freedom to help your parents without worrying your won survival. The freedom to travel, to learn, to take risks, ot to simply sleep peacefully knowing tomorrow's expenses are covered. Money does not solve every problem but it removes many problems that keep people awake at night.

I have also realised that earning money feels different when you know why you are earning it. For some it is giving their children a better future. For others it is about repaying years of sacrifice made by their parents. From dream of building a home, starting a business or simply living without constant financial issues. The amount matters but the purpose matters even more. Money with meaning feels very different from money without direction.

So yes. Money is important. Pretending otherwise ignored the reality that millions of people face every day. Big I hope that I never become so obsessed with earning it that I forget why I am doing it in the first place. Because in the end the greatest luxury money cannot buy is not the extravagance. It is the freedom to live without fear and and lot more peace.
