Missing

Today I took part in a study. In this study a descriptive question was asked. This question was "what do you miss from your childhood?" This question was a time bound question. At that time I answered this question without thinking much. But later I definitely thought a lot about that question.

In reality what exactly do I miss from my childhood?

Do I miss my toys? Probably yes. I remember a teddy bear soft toy that I had with me. It was gifted to me on one of my birthdays by my uncle. It was a light brown small soft toy. I have so many photos with that soft toy. I miss some of the small toy cars that I had. My favourite one was a truck which was believe and white in colour. I certainly miss those toys.

Do I miss the colours? I used to have crayons and I loved drawing and painting when I was young. When I had nothing to do I would take a paper and sit with my box of crayons. I would paint flowers, animals, and birds. I definitely miss that time when I would just paint whatever I wanted with out any judgement or praise.

Do I miss playing with friends? I definitely do miss that. We used to play Simple games in our school. We used to play in our school playground during the recess. Those would be simple games like Hide and Seek or tug of war which did not require anything. Just play with a team and it would be fine. I definitely do miss those simple times.

Do I miss my friends from childhood? Absolutely I do. I remember my childhood friend and my neighbour Shashi. Shashi whats 2 years elder to me. We would play a lot. We would fight a lot. But still we would always be together. I miss the fun time that I had spent with Shashi.

Do I miss my grandparents? I definitely to miss them. I know they are never going to come back. I wish I had the power to turn back the time so that I can relive those memories. I wish I could hear one more story from my grandmother. I wish I could sit with my grand dad and learn how to repair household items. I wish I could spend some more time with them.

Do I miss my school? To some extent. I never enjoyed a lot at school. I would studies a lot. But the school time was still a simple time. I may not miss my school but I definitely miss the simplicity of that time.

That was the realisation. I do not miss any particular object from my childhood. I miss the people who defined my childhood. I miss everything that made my childhood special. I miss the innocence of my childhood. I miss how easy it was letting go of everything. I miss how the fights could have been forgotten in a moment.

The thing I miss the most is simplicity of my childhood .

The thing I miss about my childhood is the nothing actually...I always wish I was braver to make new friends and always lived anxious but now I have grown out of it and now I have accepted that solitude works the best for me

This gave me a new perspective. Sometimes simple words leave the biggest impact. Wishing you all the best.
