Meeting the ex

"Hi. Are you busy? Can we talk?", I saw a text message from my friend Preeti. I checked the time, it was sent 2 hours ago. I was unable to check my phone because I was in meeting.
" Sorry I was busy. I am available now. We can speak," I responded. I assumed it was not urgent because she had waited for 2 hours for me to respond. Preeti read the text and called me.
" Hi I wanted to tell you something important. Please keep an open mind," she initiated with pleading.
"Okay here I am with an open mind. Tell me what is going on?" I said in the most calming way ensuring her that I am here for her.
" Today I received a call from Yash," she spoke as softly as possible.
I immediately interrupted her, " no not again Preeti. Please tell me you did not pick up the call and spoke with him. By now we know that he is not good for you. He broke your heart once. Every time he contacts you he ensurance that more damage is done".
"What happened to keeping an open mind?" Preeti questioned.
"My mind and heart are open for anybody except your ex. He has no place anywhere, " by now I was really angry. I remember how he had badly treated my friend. How miserable he left Preeti I remember that. I had no love or mercy for a such a cruel man.
"Still listen to me without interrupting. He called and I spoke with him. He is getting married in the next week. He wanted to meet me one last time before his marriage. I told him I would think about it," Preeti did sound very determined.
" My god Preeti why was it so difficult to say no? He is a ghost from your past who needs to be forgotten as early as possible. Text him no block him and delete his number forever. He does not deserve any second chances or any opportunity to meet or apologize," I was a literally fuming by this time. He was an atrocious persons who did not deserve any forgiveness or penance.
"I wanted to keep him hanging. That is why I did not say no," Preeti replied to me.
"But why? Why keep him hanging instead of just shutting down his advances? I feel like I should meet his fiance and tell her all about this evil man. Nobody deserves such person in their lives," I felt a a feeling of warmth across my temples. I was so angry that I had started feeling lightheaded and dizzy. I was breathing heavily.
"Now you come down buddy. I am not going to meet him for sure. We do not need to chase the girl and inform her about him. Let the time take its course. I have already blocked him," Preeti was as cool as ice. Her demeanor definitely made me believe that she had finally healed from her trauma.
"You promise you will not go to meet him? It is crucial for you to stay away from him. He is an evil and dangerous man. He has hurt you enough. Please tell me once again that whatever may be the case you will not see him again," I requested. I was almost on the verge of crying.
"I promise I will not go to meet him. In fact I was planning to file a complaint against him. I was thinking I will meet your cousin Sanjay so that he can help me sort out the legal procedure. Would you speak with him once?" I was really surprised and happy to hear from Preeti that she was planning for legal action.
"Of course I will. Should I patch him in this call itself so that three of us can discuss? I will introduce you and then leave the call," I asked.
"That is a great idea. Go ahead and add him," Preeti said. I heard a sense of relief in her voice. I was glad that she had healed from a traumatic and troublesome relationship. With shaking hands I added my lawyer cousin in the call.
I knew only legal action was a perfect closure.
