Maybe I'm Not Behind. Maybe I'm Just Growing

AnonymousJul 7, 2026189 words

There are days when I genuinely feel like everyone around me is moving faster than I am.

I open LinkedIn and see people celebrating internships, certifications, hackathon wins, and job offers. For a moment, I wonder if I'm doing enough or if I'm falling behind.

Then I remind myself of where I started.

Not long ago, I had no idea how AI projects were built. Today, I've spent countless hours learning, making mistakes, debugging code that refused to work, and pushing myself to apply for opportunities that once felt impossible.

The truth is, self-doubt doesn't disappear overnight. It quietly shows up before every interview, every application, and every new challenge.

But I've learned something important: courage isn't the absence of self-doubt. It's choosing to keep going despite it.

I'm still learning. I still have a long way to go. But when I compare myself to the person I was a year ago instead of comparing myself to everyone else, I realize I've grown more than I give myself credit for.

Maybe progress isn't always loud.

Maybe sometimes it's just showing up every day, even when no one is watching.

Everyone’s journey is different and every achievement is not loud. The norm has blinded us to the fact that survival is also an achievement and darwin declared those who survive to be the ‘fittest’.

Not knowing is not a problem. But not trying to know things is the real problem. You have taken a huge step towards trying. It may seem like a small one bit this is the kind of things your future self will thank you for

I know this feeling. We feel discouraged when others are celebrating milestones. But remember everyone will have a different journey. You will succeed when the time is right. Be patient.
