Last year around July I was looking for a book for my nephew. It was for his birthday in the next month. I wanted a book which will be appropriate for his age. I wanted a book from which he will learn good moral lessons. A book that he will love reading.

For my usual shopping habits I immediately went online. I visit it various shopping portals. I went through various categories of books which will be suitable for young readers. While browsing through the books I saw that most of the box belong to the category of fantasy novels or fairytales. I know that my nephew is not fond of this genre. Also most were written by foreign authors. I wanted something that is deeply rotate in Indian values. I wanted him to learn the Indian values and morals. Hence I had to look for an appropriate book for a very long time. Finally I found something which metro all the selection criteria that I had put across. I found the ideal book. It was "Malgudi Days" by R K Narayan. Just buy irritating the name of the book I immediately felt nostalgic. Without any for the thoughts I immediately purchased that book.

When the book was tell about at my home I was delighted. I opened the parcel. Just buy looking at the cover page of the book several memories came back. For a moment I felt that I am relieving my childhood. I remember it that when I was in school that time Malgudi Days used to be aired on TV. I loved watching that series. It used to be telecasted every Sunday morning. I had a fond memories of that series. I would be seated in front of the TV and having my breakfast while watching the amazing stories of Malgudi. Each episode would be for 30 minutes including the advertisements. It would include adventures and the experience is of characters from the fictional town of Malgudi. Every story of Malgudi Days taught me something. Every story taught me new emotion. Every character taught me how to behave in the real world. Moreover I found that each story was simple and easy to be understood by children. The stories and characters were relatable and believable. Some stories had also serious undertones.

I opened the book and I started reading it. I lost the track of the time while reading it. I finished it in just 2 hours. While reading I was Reminiscing my childhood days. I remember how I was entertained while watching these stories on TV. I felt that even after so many years the story is still hold their relevance. The central idea of all stories is the human mind. Each character had unique skills and traits. Each story carried a world of emotion. The essence of the stories is unodered after so many years.

Ultimately I felt that Malgudi Days serves as a reminder that when the world around us me shift and modernise the core of human experience remains constant. For me this book is a sanctuary very every life is granted its own narrative. Malgudi Days left me a lingering warmth and comforting realisation that there is little bit of malgudi's matric in every corner of my life. I can still close my eyes and wonder what a person in Malgudi Days would do if the face the same situation. Most of the times I received the answer.
