Learning To Be Alone

Learning To Be Alone

I used to think being alone is one of the worst feeling in the world. Whenever I had nothing to do or no one to talk to , I immediately felt lonely. I believed that if my phone isn’t buzzing with notifications or if i didn’t have plans with someone , then something was wrong . I would spend hours scrolling through social media reels , watching other people hangout , travel , enjoy life , and somehow it made my own life feel smaller . I didn’t realise that i was constantly depending on other people to fill the silence. As time passed , life naturally became busier for everyone. Friends had their own responsibilities , people stopped talking often , and there were many days when i had no option but to spend time with myself . At first , i hated it , i kept checking my phone every now and then hoping someone would text or call , Most of the yje time nothing happened , and that silence felt really heavy . Slowly , though , i stopped waiting for someone else to make my day better . I started listening to music without doing anything else , watching sunsets with from my balcony , taking short walks and even sitting quietly with my own thoughts. It felt strange in the beginning because i wasn’t used to it , but after a while i noticed that i actually enjoyed these moments . I wasn’t trying to impress anyone or keep up with anyone. I was simply existing , and somehow that felt peaceful . Being alone also made me notice things about myself that i had ignored for years . I realised what genuinely made me happy , what i wanted to improve , ans how much energy i had wasted trying to be accepted by everyone . I understood that its impossible to be liked by every person you meet , and that’s perfectly okay . I also learned that loneliness and being alone is completely different things . You can feel lonely in a room ful of people , ans you can feel completely at peace sitting by yourself . The realisation changed the way i looked at the solitude . Of course , there are still days when i miss people , there are evening when i wish someone would randomly call me or sit beside me and talk about nothing . Those feelings haven’t been disappeared , and i dont think they ever will because we are all humans . But now they do not make me panic . I know they will pass , i have learned that my own company isn’t something is not something that i need to escape from anymore . In fact , it’s become one of the places where i feel the safest . I still love spending time with people i care about , laughing with friends and making more of the memories . And its one of the best thing i do for myself

I have little amount of friends but they all are mostly genuine and good kind of people who are calm and chaotic at the same level.... Soemtimes they will not be anyone for you other than yourself...When we learn to love ourselves then others validation does not matter to us...pleple think that being alone is sad. but we can literally be ourselves when we are alone

learning to enjoy your own company is one of the quietest but strongest forms of growth .

The moment your company starts feeling like home you stop expecting everyone else to fill the voids. Learning to enjoy your own presence is the healthiest relationship you will ever build.
