Journey of blogging

Journey of blogging

A few days ago I had watched a movie called "Luckless in love". This movie had showed the experience of a protagonist in the dating scene. She would go out on dates and the dates would turn out to be disasters. She would come back and write about the dating experience in her blog. When I had watched that movie I was really intrigued with it. I was not intrigued with the dating part but the blogging part.

Out of curiosity, I had started my own blogging account in 2024. I used to do creative writing in my school, college and also I had done some creative writing work in my corporate career. This creative writing used to be for certain competitions or certain contests. I had never considered writing consistently. It is something that never was on my radar. Creative writing was only a part of me which I had not discovered and was not even willing to discover. But one day while going through one of the social media posts I came across something which was related to creative writing. I thought I should explore this skill of mine. This is how I opened an account with a blogging site.

This was the beginning of the journey. Initially I would not write regularly. I would write only when I felt like writing. My overall writing of blogs became very rare. I would probably write once in a month. Sometimes I would even write once in two months. I had no fixed frequency of writing. There was no consistency, the blogs that I was writing were not even great. If I have to be my own critic, I would say those blogs were not worth the read. Those were mediocre at the best.

In the mid of 2025 I decided that I should focus on creative writing as one of the hobbies. It was true that I had a flair towards creative writing. But it was not developed as it should have. I thought maybe the consistency in the writing would improve it. I decided that I was going to write every week and publish my blog irrespective of whether it is good. This was the second phase of my blogging journey.

I started writing every week. I would focus on the unique experience I had in that particular week. Sometimes it would be a happy blog whereas sometimes it would be an angry blog based on the highlight of that week. I was able to see the improvement in my writing within 3 or 4 months. My blogs were now readable - worth reading. My writing and storytelling skill had started to improve. Comparing them with my old blogs I could really see the difference in them.

Then came the third phasr of the blog writing journey - one that is ongoing. January 2026 onwards I decided that I would write the stories which were narrated to me. I started off with the topic that was my most favourite - horror. I started writing the horror stories in my blog which were the personal experience of people I knew. Each week was a new challenge, new story, and new blog. This is something I was thoroughly enjoy doing. Every week I was looking forward to the day when I would write my blog. It became my motivation for the week. The stories were shaping up really nicely. There was a consistent improvement in the quality of blogs. I had received praise from some of the online horror community about the blogs that I was a writing. This motivated me even more.

Today I continue to write my blogs on a weekly basis. I immerse myself into producing a high quality blogs which will also be entertaining. As much as I am enjoying writing the blogs, I am receiving great feedback from a lot of people and community. Continuing with this rigor I would want to continue writing blogs on my personal blogging site. I am now convinced that creative writing is not just my hobby, it has now become my passion. I hope and intend to continue my blogging journey. I also hope that my blogs give me an opportunity to venture into the world of creative writing. Keeping fingers crossed 🀞🏻

This reminded me why I enjoy reading blogs more than quick social media posts. There’s something refreshing about people taking the time to tell a story instead of just sharing highlights.
