Is technology too evolved?

Sometimes I wonder if technology has evolved so much that I don't actually want the next version of it.

Everyone talks about the future as if more technology automatically means a better life. Faster phones. Smarter artificial intelligence. Self- driving cara. Smart homes. Devices that listen predict, recommend, translate,remember, and sometimes seem to know what we want before we do.

And honestly, I am tired of being impressed. I don't want everything to become smarter. I don't want my refrigerator telling me what I should eat. I don't want an algorithm decoding which songs I should hear. Which videos I should watch. Which people I should follow or what opinion I should have next.

I don't want my entire the optimised. Maybe I am becoming old before my time, but there was something comforting about things being slightly inconvenient.

You had to remember phone numbers because your phone couldn't do it for you. You had to ask someone for directions because there was no GPS constantly telling you where to turn. You had to wait for a photography because you couldn't omm check whether it looked good. You had to sit through silence during a bus ride. You had to be bored.

And somehow,boredom created things. You looked outside the window. You noticed people. You thought about stupid things. You invested imaginary conversations. You stared at the celling. Now the moment there is nothing happening. We reach for a screen. Technology has made boredom almost extinct.

But I am not sure that is entirely an achievement. Sometimes I think we have confused convenience with improvement.

Yes, technology makes life easier. I am not pretending I want to return to the Stone Age. I like having maps, online banking, translation tools, artificial intelligence, and everything else that saves time

But saving time creates another problem.What are we doing with all the time we saved? We fill it. Another notification. Another video. Another message. Another recommendation. Another update. There is always something demanding our attention.

And now technology isn't simply helping us do things. It is begining to decide what we see. What we buy what we listen to , and sometimes even what we think. That part scares me.

I don't want a machine to know me better than I know myself. I don't want every decision turned into date. I don't want a future where everything is efficient but nothing feels personal. Maybe I don't want technology to stop evolving completely. I just don't want evolution to become the goal by itself.

There should be things technology leaves alone.

Silence Boredom. Privacy. Human mistakes. Waiting. Getting lost. Doing something badly because there is no algorithm to optimize it. I don't want a perfectly optimized life. I want a life with some useless moments in it. Some inconvenience. Some randomness. Some things. I have to figure out myself.

Because if technology eventually removes every difficult,boring, slow and imporfect part of being human. I am not sure what exactly we will have improved.Maybe we will simply have become very efficient at living a life that no longer feels like ours.
