In the silence of night

At night, My thought feel different comparing to the rest of the day during daytime. Life feels more structured with routine conversation and small task that keep me occupied, but when everything become quite at night, there are certain stillness that makes me more aware of my thoughts. It is not always something heavy or emotion just a quiet space, but I naturally reflect without trying to. I have noticed that I often think about small moments from the day once everything slows down. It could Be a small and simple conversation reaction I had or something I feel I could have handled in a slightly different way. These thought don’t disturb me, but they stay in the background for a while. It feels like automatically reviewing parts of my day without deciding to do so.

There also nights when I become more aware of how I am passes during the day, sometimes I feel like I was busy the entire time, but when I actually think about it later, I realise much of it was spent in small distraction like scrolling on phone, watching Netflix or just moving through routines without much attention, it is not something I judge myself, but more something I observed quietly as part of my life. It feels like I am wasting my time on useless things.. Even I have a lot of things to do.

At times, I also find myself thinking about where I am in life in a simple realistic way, not is a pressured or emotional sense but now just noticing I am slowly changing the way I think react or understand situation is not the same as before. I don’t always have clear answers about it, but i have started noticing that change is gradual. and often only visible when you look back. Maybe that’s what adulthood sounds like.

There are also a moment when I realise that not every thought needs to be deeply analysed. I used to stay stuck on small situation longer than necessary, but now I try to let things as more naturally. I still think about things and I also understand that not everything require a conclusion or meaning. Some thoughts are just temporary and they don’t always need attention, and I feel like.. we just have to let go some things because they are not in our hands and we cant change anything about it.

What i find interestingis that these reflections mostly come when everything around me is quite. During the day, I don’t Really sit and analyse life in this way, it is only at night, in silence that I become more aware of my thoughts. It feels like a pause where I am not doing anything specific, but simply observing my thought as they come and go. By the time, I actually prepared to sleep. Most of these thoughts don’t feel as important as they did in the moment. They feel lighter, always like passing reflections rather than fixed ideas. Still, I think this is quite moments are part of how I slowly understand myself over time, even if I don’t realise it immediately.

I feel you. right from our childhood we are trained to always be productive with our time. we are always told that we should not sit idle. everything we do should have a purpose. but sometimes it is good to have some eitle time in our hands. it makes us think about ourselves and our choices.
