If my heart Had a Resume
Every time someone asks for a resume they want to know the same things.
Where did you study? Where have you worked? What skills do you have? What have you achieve?
Its a document designed to measure productivity. A summary of promotion la and certificatesband accomplishments and milestones. It tells people what you are capable of doing. But I have often wondered what would happen if my heart Had to submit its own resume. I don't think it would mention school or job title. Instead it would begin with a very different list.
Experience
Loving deeply even without the promise of being loved back
Lost people I thought would always stay.
Learned that not every good bye comes with closure.
Skills
Forgiven people who never apologised.
Survived disappointment without giving up on hope.
Trusted again after betrayal mv
Carried grief without turning them into bitterness.
Found reasons to smile on the days that felt impossible heavy.
Learn med when to hold on and when to learn go.
Strengths
Empathy
Patience
Resilience
The ability to begin after beleiving I couldn't
There kd be a section for awards. Because the heart rarely recieves trophies. Nobody appluaded the person who chooses kindness after being hurt. There are no certificates for getting out of bed during difficult seasons. No medals for staying gentle in a world that often rewards hardness. Yet thoses victories are real.
Some of the hardest battles well will ever happens in complete silence. They are fought behind smiles and inside sleepless nights and during lonely walks and in the quiet moments when no one else know how close we came to giving up.
The world celebrates visible success because it is easy to measure. A salary can be counted. A degree can be framed. A promotion can be announced.
But how do you measure the courage it took to trust someone again after you trust has been broken? How do you quantity the strength required to keep believing in yourself after repeated failure? How do you list the countless mornings you got up and kept going when life have you every reason not to?
These accomplishments rarely appear on paper. But I think they are the ones that shape us the most. As I grow older I have started realisimg that the people I admire aren't necessarily those with the most impressive resumes.
They are the people whose hearts have reminded soft without fragile. People who have every reason to be cynical but still choose compassion. People who have experienced loss yet continue to live generously. People who have failed and been rejected and disappointed themselves yet still wakes up willing to try again.
What truly shapes us more?
Your vote is final.
if our heart doesn't will to do something that's not make the the real victory and doesn't shape us
this is such a nice thought. I had never even imagine if our heart can have its own resume. it is worth thinking about
> This was such a thoughtful perspective. We spend so much time building resumes for the world that we rarely think about the qualities our hearts quietly develop along the way. I especially loved the idea that "the heart rarely receives trophies." Kindness, resilience, forgiveness, and hope may never earn certificates, but they're often our greatest achievements. This was a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful victories are the ones no one else sees.
