The job that taught me everything I come from a middle class family. I am currently completing my Bachelor's Degree. Back when I was in the first semester of my second year, vacations had just begin. I orchid my parents work tirelessly in the fields every single day, and something would pinch me from inside they sacrifice so much just so I can study. That thought never left me. So I decided why not work for two or three months during the holidays? At least I could handle my own expenses and stop feeling like burden.

I started looking around. Then I found out throught a friend that her friend all working at a company in Pune, earning rupees 25,000 per month. My eyes lit up honestly. I asked her to get me in too. She wasn't very sure at first "i' ll ask, no promisesm" but within 15 days she called back. " Your seat is booked. Come whenever you 're ready. " I remember smiling alone after that call. But Pune felt scary. A big city, and I had never really gone anywhere alone in my life. So I convinced two of my friends to come with me because everything feels a little lace terrifying when you are people are beside you. We wear village girls stepping into the city for the first time naturally, we needed new clothes. jeans, tops around 5,000 spent just on that we were excited, genuinely excited.

Then came the hardest part telling my parents.

Papa was worried. " You don't know anyone there. How can I send you alone to such a big city? " His voice had that familiar heaviness in it. But I convinced him. I told him I was tired of depending on them for everything. If I worked, I cold manage my own expenses. He finally agreed and even decided to come along to drop us off. That itself told me how much he cared, even when he didn't say it.

As I was leaving home, a strange feeling came Over Me. Tears just came out of nowhere not sad once, just overwhelming ones. Everyone got emotional. Then we caught the train and headed to Pune.

At the station, we had no idea where to go next. I called my friend, got the dress found a rickshaw. The driver quoted 1500 we were shocked three girls from a small town, standing there with wide Eyes. After some bargaining he agreed to 1400. Fine, we paid and moved on.

De told us boys and girls stay in separate rooms. Papa dropped me off, looked at me for a second without saying anything, and left. I watched him go.

4 days went by. Then on the fourth day they said it straight pay 55,000 or there no job. My heart just sank. We didn't have that kind of money. I sat with that feeling for a whole day. Then I called papa, somehow and told him everything. My voice shaking the whole time.

He just said come home.

That night someone stole whatever cash I had left in my bag. A friend help me with the fare back.

I just wanted to do something on my own. Help a little. That's all it was. But I come back with empty hands and a lesson ill never forget the world can be really cruel to people who trust to easily.

Papa never said anything after that. And somehow that hert more than any scolding would have.

Your intentions were good. Though painful it was stll a learning experience. You will be more careful in the future. This experience should not define any future opportunities. Stay strong
