Happiness of rearranging my room
Today, I decided to rearrange my room. It was not because it was very messy was because someone asked me to do it. I simply felt like changing a few things. I moved some books, cleared my desk, folded my clothes properly and change position of few small items. It did not take a lot of time, but when I finished, my room felt completely different. I have noticed that whenever I feel confused or stressed, I naturally start organising my surrounding. Cleaning my room somehow makes my Mind feel lighter. It is almost as if putting things back in their places help me organise my thought at the same time. While rearranging my room, I found a few things that I had forgotten about. There were old notes, random object that remind me of different moments in my life, some made me smile because I had completely forgotten they were still there. It reminded me that our room quietly collect little pieces of our lives without us even noticing them.
I also realised how many unnecessary thing I keep. Sometime I hold on to object simply because I think I might need them one day. But while training to say, I understand that not everything has to stay. Letting go of things that no longer serve of purpose create space for something new. Also, I guess we all have that habit of keeping the clothes by saying that “I will wear that when I will get fit for this dress”, Lol. Nice to throw away old papers and organise the things I actually use.
One of my favourite part was cleaning my study table. After wiping away the dust and arranging my books neatly, I felt more motivated to sit there again. Clean space somehow makes it easier to focus. Even though the work I have to do remains the same, it feels good to study on a clean table.
Rearranging my room also gave me a small break from constantly looking at my phone. For a while, I was completely focused on something simple. There was no pressure, no deadline and no need to rush. It felt peaceful to do something with my hands, instead of staring at a screen.
By the time I finished, the room looked brighter and more comfortable. Nothing expensive had changed. I had simply take care of space that I already had. That made me realise that sometimes we do not need something new to feel refreshed. A small change can make a familiar place feel exciting again.
The experience remind me that our surroundings affect our mode more than we realise. When my room is clean and organised, I feel, more productive and more at peace. It become a place where I enjoy spending time instead of just a place where I sleep.
I want to make this a habit of instead of waiting until everything become messy. taking care of my room is also a way of taking care of myself. Today was not a special day, but it still left me feeling satisfied. Sometime happiness comes from the simplest activities, like cleaning a room, creating a fresh space and ending the day with the comforting, feeling that everything is finally in its right place.
Same here uk whenever I’m frustrated or sad, I end up cleaning my room. It feels like I’m organizing my thoughts along with my space
it’s funny how cleaning a room somehow clears the mind too. This felt comforting to read.
That is a great trick. Organizing and reorganizing really helps.
